At Preset, we are proud of our values and believe that they define who we are as a company. We are committed to inclusion, gender equality, reducing our carbon footprint and transforming mindsets in the tech community. We'll explain why these values are important to us and how we work every day to promote them.

We are all different and we recognise this

We are proud to be an advocate for inclusion in the tech world. We believe that this approach is not only fair and ethical, but also achieves better results for our customers and our business. This is achieved through concrete actions.

First, team diversity. It is important to note that many tech companies still suffer from a lack of diversity in their teams. According to a 2021 study, women only represent 28.8% of tech jobs, and ethnic minorities are also underrepresented. At Preset, we are looking to implement specific recruitment and training programmes in the near future to attract talent from diverse backgrounds, allowing us to have more diverse and creative teams.

Inclusion also allows us to take into account the accessibility of our solution. Some technology companies do not take sufficient account of the accessibility of their products and services for people with disabilities. This creates barriers for these users and reinforces exclusion. At Preset, we have developed a user-centred approach to designing products and services that are accessible to all, taking into account the specific needs of people with disabilities.

But we must not forget the biases. Algorithms and data models can sometimes reinforce inequalities and biases, due to a lack of diversity in the training data or a non-inclusive design. At Preset, we are aware of this problem and actively work to identify and correct biases in our algorithms.

Gender balance in teams: many tech companies face a gender imbalance, with an under-representation of women. At Preset, we are committed to balancing the gender split by implementing targeted recruitment and training programmes that encourage the participation of women and other underrepresented genders in our business.

Equal opportunities and pay: Gender equality also means ensuring that all employees, regardless of gender, have the same opportunities for professional development and career advancement. We ensure that salaries and promotions are based on skills and performance, without any gender discrimination. In addition, as Preset grows we will offer training and mentoring to help employees develop their skills and progress in their careers.

Aware of our carbon footprint and committed to a greener future

We are aware of the environmental impact of our business, particularly in relation to our carbon footprint and electricity consumption, and have been taking action since our inception to limit the impact of our business. We want to address these issues openly, acknowledging the challenges we face and outlining the steps we are taking to reduce our carbon footprint, optimise our electricity consumption and develop appropriate technologies. We will also use data to show the effectiveness of our actions.

We recognise our environmental impact. As a cloud computing company, we are aware that our activities generate greenhouse gas emissions and consume electricity. Data centres are known to be large consumers of energy and contribute to the overall carbon footprint of the industry. At Preset, we take this reality seriously and are committed to acting responsibly to reduce our impact on the environment.

We are doing everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint by adopting more environmentally friendly technologies and optimising our processes. For example, we use energy-efficient cooling systems for our servers, which reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions. In addition, we are constantly working to improve the energy efficiency of our infrastructure and services.
In order to continue our eco-responsible approach, we are optimising our electricity consumption. Electricity consumption is a major issue for cloud computing companies. To address this issue, Preset strives to develop and adopt innovative technologies that optimise electricity consumption. We also invest in research and development to find more sustainable and efficient energy solutions to power our data centres.
Finally, we choose certified data centres. We are particularly attentive to the source of our energy and the environmental impact of our data centres. That's why we've made the decision to host our servers in certified data centres that meet our strictest environmental standards. These facilities use renewable energy sources and implement energy efficiency measures.

By being transparent about our challenges and actions we want to show our commitment to a greener future and encourage other companies in the industry to follow our lead. Together we can build a more sustainable future for our industry and our planet.

Committed to a technology industry rooted in reality

To build a successful and sustainable future in the tech sector, it is crucial to address some of the problematic mindsets that prevail in the tech community. We face three major issues: discrimination (again), the idea of liberating entrepreneurship and the French Tech ecosystem which is stagnating while internationally, innovation is in full swing.

First, it is about rethinking entrepreneurship as it is promoted today. The idea that technological entrepreneurship is a path to liberation for individuals is often put forward in the technological community and more widely in the professional world. This view can sometimes mask more complex realities, such as the inequalities and difficulties faced by certain populations in accessing opportunities in this field. At Preset, we take a more nuanced approach to entrepreneurship, recognising the challenges faced by entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds and developing initiatives to support them in collaboration with our partners.

It also means rethinking the French Tech ecosystem. We criticise the French Tech ecosystem for being complacent and not innovating as much as it should compared to its international counterparts. France has a huge potential for innovation and it's really time to play an active role in unleashing that potential and not continue to fund connected layers. This is why we are working with international partners and supporting local initiatives to stimulate innovation and strengthen France's position on the global technology scene.
